COUNSELING INTERN

A Bit About Me

I am a Counseling Intern currently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The Chicago School, under the supervision of Oz Ezkibel.

The question of who I am and where I come from is complex. As a Canadian/American who spent
the first 10 formative years of my life in Africa and India, I was raised to celebrate cultural
differences and recognize the many factors that shape one’s identity. People with experiences like mine often refer to themselves as citizens of the world." It may sound cliché, but it truly captures who I am! It has also shaped my understanding of how culture, identity, and oppression profoundly influence my clients' lives.

I believe true change comes from within, driven by our need to form authentic connections with others. In therapy, our goal is to explore how you approach the relationships in your life, helping you uncover the unconscious thoughts and feelings that shape your connections with those around you.

We’ll explore both past and present relationships, including the relationships we develop during our sessions. The insights we gain from examining your relational needs will empower you to build stronger, more meaningful connections outside of therapy. Additionally, we’ll explore your relationship with yourself—sometimes, internal barriers prevent us from connecting with others. We’ll take the time to listen to these parts of you and understand what they have to teach.

This approach is rooted in relational psychodynamics and internal family systems therapy. I offer therapy in individual, couples, and group settings, as I believe healing through authentic connection is a deeply transformative experience.

Let’s work together to foster these connections and bring more meaningful change to your life!
